Mrs. Edna V. Tolbert-Bailey

October 13,1919-November 13, 2013

It is with great sadness and profound trepidation that we announce the death of our mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunty, cousin and friend-Edna V. Tolbert-Bailey. Nonetheless, we celebrate a life of compassion, fullness, and service.

This transition occurred in Monrovia, Liberia on the evening of November 13, 2013- a month after she celebrated her 94th birthday.

We are immensely grateful and thankful for the precepts she nurtured and instilled in us, for they have emboldened us and stand as the fulcrum of our core beliefs.

Celebrating this transition includes her children-Esther Bailey, Saynon Freeman-Crusoe (Joe), Edith Freeman, Samuel Bailey, Stephen, Bailey, Tilmon Emmanuel Bailey, Lorraine Bailey-Yartor, Aletha Bailey-Dewalt (Richard), Emma Bailey-Dixon, Wesley N. Bailey Jr. (Louise), Edna Bailey, Mietta Freeman, Siatta Freeman-Sherman (Lamuel). Her children, Lennard,  Ernest , Louis and Leona Bailey-Kuyon pre-deceased her.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers:  Kula Tolbert, Facia Demmie Daniel Tolbert and Levi Tolbert. Many sisters and brothers pre-deceased her.

She leaves to mourn her death,  35 Grandchildren, 53 Great -grandchildren and many nieces,  nephews and friends.
