Mrs. Sadia North Tubman

It is with profound sadness that the Tubman, Lagardere, Thernize, Gibson, North and Yarngo families announce the home-going of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin, Mrs. Sadia Elizabeth North Tubman. This heart-breaking event occurred on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Jamaica Hospital in Jamaica, New York.


Mrs. Tubman worked at the Liberian Telecommunications Corporation (TELECOM) for many years. She was a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church on Camp Johnson Road in Monrovia, Liberia, and after migrating to the United States, became an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Jamaica, New York.

She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter – Mrs. Toni Tubman-Lagardere, (Harry), her grandson - Justin Thernize, adopted son - Joseph P. Tubman, step son – William Tubman, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children, and friends in both the United States and Monrovia, Liberia.

With heavy hearts the Dennis, Garway, Pritchard and Gono families announce the death of our beautiful, jovial and dynamic mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend -Marie Ajuah Dennis- who passed away on July 15, 2013 in Gaithersburg, Maryland after a brief illness.

Marie loved people and valued her social connections. She will be sorely missed by her many friends in the United States and Liberia.

Before immigrating to the United States in 1991, she worked at the Liberia Water and Sewer Company for many years and before that the Ministry of Finance.

She is mourned by her children, Rowena Gono; Joseph Gono, Jr. (Victoria); one foster son Anthony Taplah; three grandchildren: Joel Gono, Nyen Ambrose Wotorson and Nuntiah Wotorson; her siblings and a host of relatives and friends in Liberia and the United States.

He was born and raised in Monrovia, Liberia.  Mr. Phillips was a graduate of Central High, and he also attended AME Zion University. Lemuel Logan

The family of Lemuel Logan announces his peaceful transition from life to death which occurred on July 10, 2013 in Brewerville, Liberia. Lemuel relocated from the United States to Liberia to care for his ailing mother, Rebecca Jimlack who eventually predeceased him in 2010. He was also predeceased by his father, Rudolph N.B. Logan, Sr. and his sister Mai Evangeline Logan.

He is survived by his wife Marie Lewis, 7 children, Annie Logan, Deshina Logan, Tebana Logan, Manseen Logan, Kiah Logan, Lemriel Logan and Jocelyn Logan-Hernandez, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grand, 7 siblings, Evita Bestman, Stanley Slagmolen, Rudene Logan-Wilkins, Rudolph Logan, Worrick Logan, Ruth Logan Kias, and Rubitha Logan, cousins, Estelle Brown-Hammon, Amelia Brown, Dr. Sabrina Logan, Nathaniel Logan and a host of other relatives and friends.

Gordon was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Richard J.B. and Anna Freeman Duncan; He was also predeceased by his step mother Mrs. Maude Blake Duncan, and Louise Gaines Duncan.
He leaves to mourn his death Mrs. Johnette Houston (Minnesota) a caring motherly woman who took care of him as a young boy.

He is also survived by his Ex- wife Mrs. Dazeline Mason Duncan of Atlanta, Two Daughters, Princess Duncan Mason and Matu Duncan; a son Leon Duncan of Monrovia, his sisters Isabella Duncan, Aurora Duncan Moore, Mai Julia Duncan Ward (NAHOR) Thelma E. Asata Yenneh Wisseh

November 26 1988 - June 21 2013

Asata Wisseh was the daughter of Kaiyatu C. Kaba and Anthony N. Wisseh. She is survived by her daughter, Aalani Sessom; her father, Anthony Wisseh; her siblings Sophie Rotmark, Berthlyn Nicol, and Kaimon Santiago; a host of other relatives and friends in Liberia and the United States.
